Founded in early 2000 the PAP is a non-profit, non-political,
scientific, and professional association established for individuals
and organizations interested
in population
and development in the Pakistani context.
Membership
of the Association is broad-based and is open for
professionals interested and involved in population
studies and related action program. Its current membership
comprises demographers, sociologists, statisticians,
reproductive health experts, environmentalists,
economists, geographers, public health personnel, social
worker, and other.
The
objective of the Association is to promote and strengthen
the disciplines of population by providing forum to
subject experts, facilitating their professional
development, sharing scientific knowledge in population,
and sharing experiences in the different disciplines of
population.
PAP is
governed by its
Executive Council
through elections, held during the 9th Conference on “Population Dynamics and Security: Public Policy Challenges in Lahore from 2-4 December 2008.
